Kalie- Front Desk

I have been with Skagit Family Health Clinic since 2007 and I couldn’t picture myself working anywhere else. It has been so rewarding growing up with this clinic and watching it transform into what it is today; I am proud to call this my second home. I have gained a lot of great relationships not only with our staff but with our patients as well. What I have loved the most is watching families grow and seeing all the babies that were born mature into young children. When I’m not at work I love to spend time with my family and friends and with my two dogs, Ky Ky and Trip.

Elvira- Front Desk

What I love about my job is helping our patients feel at home and seeing their wonderful children grow. I joined Skagit Family Health Clinic in 2010, best decision I have ever made. I come from a migrant family and due to the circumstances I couldn’t continue my education. I got married and had 2 daughters. My prior job didn’t allow me to spend much time with them. Missing their first steps and missing the first years of their lives, that’s when I decided to go back to school and become a medical receptionist. When I’m not at work I like to spend quality time with my 2 daughters and my wonderful husband. I also enjoy taking long walks with my puppy Rocky and volunteering at my church.

Debra- Front Desk

I enjoy working with a caring and supportive staff to make every patient’s experience as pleasant as possible.  I strive to make each patient feel welcome as they come in, and to make scheduling appointments convenient.  My favorite part of my job is seeing all the babies and children, and watching families grow. I have been with the clinic since 2010.

Haylan- Front Desk

I started at SFHC in April of 2016 and am so grateful to become part of such a welcoming and caring group of providers and staff. The fast pace, multi-tasking, and patient interaction at the front desk is where I prefer to be in a clinical setting. Providing a positive environment and experience for our patients and their families is top priority. If I can take an extra step to makes someone’s day better, I am always happy to help in any way I can. Outside of work I enjoy going to the beach, board games, gardening, and spending time with my boyfriend Bryan and our mischievous Westie, Ozzy.

Karina- Medical Assistant

I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field to help in any way I can. I decided to start off by becoming a medical assistant to get the feel of the medical game and I love it. I went to Everest College and became a Certified Medical Assistant in 2012 while working double shifts as a CNA and raising my family. I did my externship at SFHC and they were willing to hire me after completion for which I am very thankful. What I love about my career now is I get to interact with pregnant women and watch them grow into parenthood and also be involved anywhere from pediatric to geriatric care. I was very fortunate to have had Lisa Litton as my midwife to help deliver my 2nd child at the Mount Vernon Birth Center. Our midwives excellent care for their patients had such a positive impact in my life that it has inspired me to pursue becoming a midwife in the near future.

Amanda- Medical Assistant

Compassion, love, care, empathy, these are just a few of the reasons I joined the medical field. Whether patients’ are sick, following up, or coming in for blood draws and shots I love listening to their stories and helping them on their journey in life. I was needing a positive career change when I found Skagit Family Health Clinic. I joined the team in 2014, and have learned, grown and become a better healthcare professional. I enjoy being outdoors, horseback riding, hunting, kart/sprint car racing, being with family. Most of all, I love spending quality time with my fiance and our dog Tuff.

Holly- Medical Assistant

I started my medical career about 3 years ago. It was not something I ever thought I would find myself loving and wanting to do for life, but making a patient’s healthcare experience a great one is what I strive for every day.  I began my career as a Medical Assistant at Everest college, graduated and started in the field of Family Medicine. I absolutely love Family Med as it approaches many different aspects of medicine and all age ranges of patients. I eventually would love to go back to school to become a Neonatal RN and help deliver babies. In my spare time I love camping, pampering, taking my two beautiful dogs Karma and Nova to the dog park, spending time with family and friends and traveling.

Anabel- Medical Assistant

I have been a Medical Assistant since 2004 and have enjoyed every single day caring for patients. I am very happy to be a part of the SFHC team and look forward to the years to come.  I moved to WA in 2011 and love the rainy weather, and beautiful trails! On my days away from the office I enjoy spending time with my family, and visiting my family from California.

Ashley- Billing

I started working at Skagit Family Health Clinic in 2011 after completing my medical billing and coding training program and it’s amazing how quickly the years have flown by! There have been so many changes here! New providers mean more patient visits, which also means more claims to file and more insurance issues to work. I love the challenge of figuring out what’s wrong with a claim and working with insurance companies to get claims paid. I also love getting to talk to patients and help them to understand their insurance benefits. Getting to see all the cute new babies that come in to the clinic is just a fun perk of working here! In my off time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, sewing, quilting & refurbishing old furniture pieces.

Arlene- Billing

I love working in medical insurance and billing because it is such a dynamic field; everything always seems to be changing. I love learning, so being in a field where I get to learn something new almost every day is an awesome place for me to be. I look forward to spending many more years working and learning at Skagit Family Health Clinic!

I started working for Skagit Family Health Clinic at the beginning of October 2014. Originally I began as a receptionist at the front desk and I would work up in the billing office during the afternoon. As time went on, though, they saw the need to add one more full time person to the billing department. Well, here I am!
